OK, you dropped your mobile phone in the water. We've all done it at one time or another. So what can be done? Some think the best solution is to place the phone in a bowl of dry rice. The thinking is that the rice will suck out the moisture from within. Others think that putting the phone in a bag of uncooked rice is not only better but faster as well. The thing is, both techniques have some limitations and I will explain why below — along with my recommendation for rescuing a mobile phone from water.
Here are some tips on how to rescue a mobile phone that has been underwater:
1) First things first: turn off the device! If you don't do this right away, then there's a chance that water will continue to seep into the phone and make things worse.
2) Remove any protective casing or covers on the phone. This will allow more water to drain out of the device.
3) Take out your battery (if possible). If your battery is removable, remove it from the device entirely and place it in a bowl of dry rice overnight (this will help to dry out any moisture retained inside). If your battery isn't removable, try drying out as much water as possible with paper towels before proceeding with steps 4-6 below.
4) Put your phone in a bag of uncooked rice for at least 24 hours (a freezer would work even better), making sure all parts are covered but also leaving enough room for air circulation around each part so that excess moisture
