How to use AI for writing "without using" AI

When I begin to learn something new, my head is in chaos mode. I know what I want to learn more about, but I can't find my way into the new subject, into the text, and how I should "build" my knowledge around the subject.

There is so much to read and so little time, so it sometimes becomes insurmountable to start learning.

For me writing is a way of learning, I get interested in something and want to know more, and I have discovered that it works best for me to write while learning.

I don't think I am a good writer, not at all, but I like the way of slowly building my way into the subject.

Often it becomes horrible pieces of text I just can't bring together as a full article.

And I just drop it.

But I constantly get curious about things and want to know more.

"This is how I use AI without using AI."

Until now.

I have found an ultimate tool to help me.

ChatGPT is the new AI writing tool, you have probably heard about or read about it, or even used it, every newspaper is writing about it.

To begin, I am not so fond of these AI writing tools.

They often produce texts with, for me, a confusing order of information. And I have a feeling that they are not giving me trustworthy information.

But now I have discovered how I can use this ChatGPT to find my way into a text.

This is how I use AI without using AI.

And yes, it sounds pretentious I know.

Let's say I find a subject to write about, I ask ChatGPT to write an article about it.

Let's say I want to know more about climbing.

So I tell ChatGPT to "Write an article about climbing mountains".

Now I have something to build on.

Then there are parts I want to know more about, like what tools I need to climb, where I can climb as a beginner, and so on.

Now I have a lot of pieces of text I can arrange in the order I want to understand climbing, and how I want it to be written.

Of course, I could use the text as it is, they are sometimes well written, but a little boring and repetitive, articles built by chatGPT are often built the same way, and it would be pointless.

I mean, I want to learn, not just make an article.

So I start my research, and dig into the subject "climbing", with the use of the pieces of text I have.

Then I start to rewrite the bits and pieces of text, in my words, in my way, with what I have found in my research.

Sometimes I can use a sentence chatGPT created, but I rewrite it, in a way I think works fine.

On the whole, I rewrite all the pieces of text I have.

This has become a fun and more interesting way for me to learn something.

A new area I want to learn about no longer feels insurmountable, I have broken down the text to something understandable I can build a piece of knowledge around.
