The Botox Boom: A Satirical Look at the Artificial Faces of Fame

The Botox Boom: A Satirical Look at the Artificial Faces of Fame

I can't help, but I've noticed a troubling trend as I change the channels: the increase in Botox-filled, stony-faced TV personalities and celebrities.

We have all seen it.

The new look.

With their frozen foreheads and unchanging faces, these artificially altered people are a far cry from the natural beauty and emotional range we formerly knew and adored.

Stone faces with a robot-like expression.

Smiles with a grin, or rather a grimace, it is hard to know what expression they have.

Lifting their cheeks like a cake, with no mimic at all.

The artificial has now even been a part of how we look.

It appears as though robots have taken their place, programmed to grin and nod when instructed but lacking any real human emotion in their faces.

I work in a building where we have a plastic surgical clinic above us.

Celebrities and TV personalities are almost standing in a cue, at the back door.

Scared to get noticed if they use the front door as if they think we do not notice the surgical procedures on their faces.

But there is a bright spot in this botoxed cloud, so do not be alarmed, dear readers. See, we've been amused for hours by these frozen-faced celebrities as we tried to figure out what was going on inside of them.

Not to mention the extra benefit of being able to play "spot the botox" Similar to Where's Waldo, but instead of looking for a red and white striped hat, we're searching for indications of injectable filler.

So let's embrace this plastic, botox-filled, stone faces for what they are: hilarious gold mines. After all, the best botox is laughing.

Is that an affront or a smile? Is that an agreeable nod or a quiet eye roll? There are countless options.

And yes I know, people have the right to do whatever they want with their life.

But isn't it a bit sad when we all look like clones?

With no personality in our faces, not showing the changes life does to us.
